part ii is so heartbreaking, it’s tormenting me. my heart is squeezed all the time. the pain is physical & real. i don’t know how some words on a piece of paper could do this. if i were agnes i’d tear the world apart i wouldn’t know how to be normal anymore

this book is so gripping it conquered my short attention span. what do you mean i could read for an hour straight without distracting myself

The story is surprisingly easy to comprehend. The short chapters helped me understand A LOT. And since this book is the most behemoth one I read in a while, I’m trying to follow 50 pages a day. Hopefully, I can keep it up.

If I could highlight the whole chapter 16, i would. It is so beautifully written. Now, I’m scared of finishing this book and becoming jobless like what am I going to do with my life after I’m done with it?

I’m enjoying Eileen and Simon’s side of story too much.

I’m back in business with reading Sally Rooney’s book, and I’m so excited I’m about to cry. I love these email exchanges. I love how Rooney uses mundane activities to convey ideas that offer new perspectives or are deeply relatable. I don’t want to rush this; I want to savor every page of this book.

I read this alone in front of the tv, then I started searching for my mom and continued reading it beside her bc I’m scared omg

I’m enjoying this too much ig. I love seeing how Naomi and Nicholas try to frustrate and annoy one another. Also love to see this from Naomi’s pov because I swear to god she’s so funny

I know he’s guilty of murder but why am I so against him coming to the police?!

He’s constantly relieved that he hasn’t been caught and also trying to get himself jailed.

When he started up because he had a thought, but not in particular because he knew he’d had a premonition that such a thought would race through his head……

I’m still at the very beginning BUT I have had no idea that in the hands of an incredibly talented person, a description of dust could be so life changing to read.

The air of melancholy is pretty thick in this book. It’s just like the overall mood. But I think right now I’m feeling and breathing the thickest of that air.

I’m already captivated by how Sally Rooney wrote Peter’s chapter. The style was not the easiest to read but I could see what she was trying to do. I’ll talk about it more when I’ve read more of his povs.
