What would we construct in its place?" Well, this is exciting.

I'm reading this book VERY slowly because of its intensity, but I am loving it. It's already moved me to tears a few times. THIS SERIES. <3<3<3<3

This book is really compelling. It kinda feels like a cross between Dorothy Allison's "Cavedweller" and Linda Hogan's "Solar Storms." I've been thinking about the story when I'm away from it, and feel excited to pick it up each time.

Uh-oh. I'm only on page 12 and there's already a "tanned, lithe torso." Haha!

From the totally cheesy cover to its excessive use of the word "demesne," i'm finding this quite entertaining.

This is interesting; I'm enjoying the excerpted oral histories a lot, though the contextualizing introductions by Takaki aren't really anything new to me.

Omg. This book! Cringe-worthy dialogue continues. So far it's pretty much badly written "bestseller-y" dyke drama. Nothing interesting has happened so far. What happened, Carey? Disappointing.

So far this is not living up to its predecessor. The dialogue is kinda making me cringe. But the first one was so good! I will solidier on.

The Native girl turns into a WOLF? Really?!? Is this ornate language trying to be all, "I have travelled many moons?" I'm feeling deeply disappointed right now.

Uuummm. I don't know about this. The language is so overwrought. But I love her other books! I'm torn. Gonna keep going for a bit longer at least.
