Edmond is reading Act Like You Got Some Sense: And Other Things My Daughters Taught Me
Funny book from a funny and a straightforward guy. I loved how he connected with his kids. He explained the first relationship and the issues. He is a great guy who talks his mind. Loved this book.

Edmond is reading Do Dogs Dream? : Nearly Everything Your Dog Wants You to Know
It’s good, the advice was good as a dog owner and it taught me quite a bit. I just wished I could ask the 15 other questions that popped in my mind while I was reading the book.

Edmond is reading Journalism After Snowden: The Future of the Free Press in the Surveillance State (Columbia Journalism Review Books)
The information in the book is really good but I think based on the advances in technology and law, getting outdated. Snowden exposed lots of holes and it has become a dangerous world even in the US. I hope we have more books updated in the future such as this one.

Edmond is reading Gender Queer: A Memoir
Pretty informative book on how a non binary person feels and the pronouns e wants to use. My only concern is the jumping back and forth when em were young and old.

Edmond is reading Funny Business: The Legendary Life and Political Satire of Art Buchwald
A well written biography of the writer and humorist Art Buchwald. There was a lot of history and research during the last 60 years and was presented well.

Edmond is reading Empire of the Scalpel: The History of Surgery
A very good book all the way to the beginning of how surgery came into being from ancient days to the future. The author has a command of the subject. I wish though he had stated why he keeps calling surgeons, knife bearers?

Edmond is reading The Five Dysfunctions of a Team
A really good book discussing the flaws of a team, in this case an executive team but could be any team. I really liked how the author broke things down and had good examples. It was slow in the beginning but it gets really good.

Edmond is reading Japanese Design: Art, Aesthetics & Culture
The book seemed very fascinating for me to learn about Japanese art, but the book reads more like an encyclopedia. It has lots of reference material. I liked the people but was disappointed when the author stopped at 1950.

Edmond is reading The Woman in the Dunes
I suspect the imagery and the writing in native Japanese was more powerful than what I read. The sand and the captivity and what it represents was lost in the translated English. Good story and premise though. Found this book from our library program where the book is hidden. Good find.

Edmond is reading The Renunciations: Poems
Pretty quick read, had a hard time to follow the writing. It wasn’t until the end when I read the excerpts of the poems that I wanted to re-read some of the poems.

Edmond is reading In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror, and an American Family in Hitler's Berlin
A book about ambassador William Dodd who was the ambassador to Germany from 1933-37. At times there was too many details but overall it was a good expose in life in Germany in the pre-war era.

Edmond is reading Beginners: The Joy and Transformative Power of Lifelong Learning
It started out great. I was excited about learning and how a beginner starts and challenges and disappointments of being stuck as a beginner. But the book devolved and I wasn’t sure what it was all about. I read the rest of the book in a day just to finish.
