This novel tells stories of a period I lived through but of things I never experienced. It’s enlightening but shocking. I was “pro-choice” before but now that opinion has been reinforced. And I’m only half-through the book.

I’m reading the second in this very entertaining, nicely researched series of historical mystery stories and although this is usually not my genre,am enjoying them very much and looking forward to the rest of the series.

This book is captivating - an easy but difficult read because of the circumstances this man experiences. Eye opening, tragic and funny all at the same time.
