Their son cooked dinner once a week. First time parent helped pick recipe and go grocery shopping and demonstrated techniques. After that they stayed on the other side of the counter paying bills, etc to be available for questions & be patient with taste and dinner timeline. Afterwards each family member rates recipe from 1-10 and indicate what they liked and didn't like

I didn't even know it was an option to take an AP chemistry exam without a class - these kids made a group, applied for an independent course credit, and used an AP exam workbook and fee education resources to teach themselves. They periodically checked in with the chemistry teacher

I hope I'm not supposed to be all that impressed with the cooperation of farmers to systematically force wetlands into farmland with dykes and other ecologically unnecessary infrastructure. Good effort, wrong application. If ecological systems are not given any thought in a book on "ecosystems" of mutual aid, then this will be a surprisingly shortsighted view

If she was really concerned with putting food on the table for her family she would marry the guy who loves her and has resources. No one at this level of poverty would refuse the "charity" of a happy marriage with someone who supports their healing work who has the additional resources to support their family. Completely out of touch

moral development vs eliciting compliance; the center of gravity is outside the child without any respect for their needs and interest; the idea that the best preparation for future unpleasantness is the subjection to unpleasantness while they are small; we are *not* overly inclined to listen to our children't point of view
