Jim Crigler is reading The Rubber Band (Nero Wolfe, #3)
Nero Wolfe figures it out (as always). The clues were all there, and I missed them.

Archie Goodwin, the narrator, is free with his user of the slang of the period, and sometimes I don't get it.

Wolfe drinks a *lot* of beer.

Jim Crigler is reading Deliverance (Hell Divers, #3)
Post apocalyptic action/thriller/horror. This is the third book in the series. Don't read/listen to all of these in a row. But they are good. It's starting to look like humanity can come does from the sky.

Jim Crigler is reading Life Debt (Star Wars: Aftermath, #2)
Building on the characters that were established in the first aftermath novel, this one continues the story, keeping the additional cast small and throwing in some of the traditional characters from the Star wars universe. This is the middle book of a trilogy and I hope that the third book continues building same story as well as this one did.

Jim Crigler is reading Xenocide (Ender's Saga, #3)
This is a thought-provoking science fiction book. This is what science fiction probably should be. There are lots of ways to tell stories, even science fiction stories, navigating the array of characters that Card has set out is enjoyable and makes you appreciate the way he understands his characters and gives them depth.
