It’s a gorgeous love story based on my favorite Kafka quote (one of my favorite quotes, period): “By believing passionately in something that still does not exist, we create it. The nonexistent is whatever we have not sufficiently desired,” combined with Plato’s allegory of the cave (which I still kind of hate, even after all these years).

Which doesn’t make any sense because does make better meat. Unless you’re strictly a trophy hunter, of the type that cuts off the head and leaves the rest in a nasty disrespectful rotting pile, in which case 🖕

This is like reading At Swim-Two-Birds: “This book is absolutely brilliant.” “What the heck am I reading?” “This book is absolutely brilliant.” All in the span of a single page

So now he’s completely lost all of his credibility (fact checking is never a bad idea), but I’ve still got 25% of the book left. Its times like these I wish I was still the type of person who could DNF a book.

I’m not sure about the purpose of this chapter. Does his average reader really need to be told that drugs are bad?!? Also, the idea that every girl who smokes or drinks ends up hooking is hilarious. I don’t even know where to start with that one, probably because I’m late for my one o’clock blow job, LOL

CRUD! I just went back and checked Rich Dad Poor Dad. It was Over the Top that Kiyosaki recommended and I read back in ~2009. Since that was the book I intended to read, now I've got to suffer through a third round of evangelical pull-yourself-up-by-the-bootstraps-and-smile (unless you're fat or have a big nose. Then you totally need to lose weight and get plastic surgery).

Which is how he became such a legend in the first place. As a side note— people who become sexually stimulated watching three episodes of South Park may have an underlying mental condition that needs addressing.

Rereading this book after, like, 17 years, I am reminded why it made me uncomfortable the first time around. Foremost is Ziglar’s Christianity. He proselytizes too much for me. Hoping along with this, I know even a broken clock is right twice a day, but multiple Bill Gothard quotes are creepy. I had also forgotten just how toxically positive Ziglar is. His writing style is accessible and entertaining,

Sorry, Theo, but I can’t stand Thoreau, either. It’s easy to 💩 on nice things when you’ve never known life without them. I’m not Adam Smith’s biggest fan either, but, as a proud material girl, of all the complaints and insults that can— and largely have been— hurled my way, no one can say I’m not willing to work for the nice things I have.

OMG, three minutes in and the glurge is almost overwhelming.
Look, I get it, b1tches gotta eat, and money doesn’t grow on trees. If you’d spend half the time seeking the truth (instead of what it’s convenient to believe) as you spend regurgitating treacle, you might find REAL “Justice for Ron.”
