Both are freaks. Max because of his gigantic size and Kevin because of his small size. Max has learning disablities and Kevin is super smart. Together they make a formidable team. Freak uses Max as a horse to convey him on his adventures. Max delights in the adventures that Kevin immerses him, getting him out of hiding in his basement and enjoying life.
