I haven't read a sci-fi story with a premise similar to this before. I'm finding it a good read, but I'm not sure where the story will go. To bad thanksgiving is I've and now I have to actually get some work done.

Started off a little slow, but really picked up. Doing a good job of showing the different perspectives and how the clash was inevitable. I'm impressed by how tight the narrative is so far, no loose ends.

Good page turner- very action pack and a lot of details around the tactics being used, although not much is given away in terms of explanations of the blood-song. I'm enjoying the book so far :)

Hornblower is not a fan of the spaniards

So far my favorite of the series. It is great to see Hornblower in charge of a ship of the line.

Interesting read so far. Not sure what I was expecting, but i'm liking the change in pace from my normal Sci-Fi stuff. Still not sure exactly what the book will be about but I'm enjoying the story. Well written and interesting discussions on the workplace / enviroment of the cirlce

Off to a great start

Really enjoying this book!

Enjoying the book so far, pick right up after the last book- having some trouble remembering everything

Finished with Part 1- I'm hooked! John Scalzi at it again with an immersive universe and attention grabbing opener :)

off to an interesting start. Cool to hear some of the history about submarines.
