god I actually cannot with this book. I think I'm going to dnf. it's not good.

This is only the second time I've read this, first time was 13 yrs ago(!)

I remember being annoyed by the village people's surnames when I was a kid, because I didn't know it was, in part, a riff on A Midsummer Night's Dream (despite having studied it in school!) and got very mad that the baker was called Weaver, and so on. Ironically now, that's the only Shakespeare play I've seen a performance of, and this book's probably to blame for that ;)

Part of me feels like I've read this before (p sure I haven't, though), but I read somewhere that it shares similarities with the later Tiffany Aching books (it does, but it is obviously not the same), and I've read most of those, so that's probably what's going on here.

not a clue why this is my favourite Judy Blume, but it is. so I'm rereading it for the first time in forever.

my favourite Christopher Pike book, let's gooooooo!

not a difficult read in the slightest, but I find the tone to be patronising and smug. also, turns out I knew what hygge was all along.
