So far so good, but I'm worried how well this one will hold up. It was the first book by Robbins that I read and I absolutely adored it as a 15 year old. We'll see what much older Jenny thinks about it now.

Having read most of William Gibson's books at this point, it will be interesting to return to the first of his that I read.

Enjoying my second re-read of the year. It's been so long I honestly remember nothing about the story.

Now commencing the year of the re-read. First up is one of my all-time favorites. :)

Super excited to be reading a new translation of this book. :)

Giving this one a go in Norwegian. (Re-reading)

Me giddy because I realize Bronson Pinchot is narrating the audiobook. Two top notch narrations in a row! Makes up for the godawful narration of Rachel Cushner with Creation Lake. Authors should not narrate their own books. >.<

It's October and I'm in the mood for some spooky smut! I last read this book when I was 15 years old. We'll see how it holds up.

*cue my immediate delight when I realize Edoardo Ballerini will be one of the narrators of the audiobook*

Found this on the 'leave a book/take a book' shelf in the foyer of my apartment building. I've never wanted to read this book, but the idea of reading a pop culture sensation in Norwegian is somewhat amusing. I especially enjoy that they have changed the title from Eat Pray Love (would have been Spis Be Elsk) to Eat Love Live. That praying bit probably would have been a turn off for many Norwegian readers. LOL

As It turns out, my final book of the year is my favorite book of the year.

Regretting the decision to read this one. I can't believe I still have over half to go.

Reading this in 2018 feels like arriving absurdly late to the party, but whatevs. Better late than never. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So. Much. Hockey. If I'd read the blurb before plunging into this book, perhaps I'd have known. I must press on.

The Eschaton section is, without a doubt, one of the greatest bits of fiction I've read in my life. I don't remember the last time a book made me laugh so hard for so long. DFW was broken and brilliant in exactly the right proportions.

Started reading Darconville's Cat and NOPE'd out of it about 10 pages in. Decided on this light reading instead.

Narrator is driving me crazy. He can pronounce "Ove" correctly, but not "Rune." It's two syllables, not one. *sigh*

Oh no. I'm crying on the train. I'm crazy crying train lady. Damn you, Tim Murphy!

OMG. This book is so boring and tedious! If I didn't have only four chapters left, I would just walk away.

Ugh! So angry I feel like I have explosives in my stomach. Stolen from Africa, indeed. >.<

Ugh, all the feels. WHYYYYYYY, SK?! WHY?!

I really don't know how to feel about King writing himself in as a character in the book. Feels sort of cheap in a way.

Muir's thorough description of cooked beans, coffee, and tea in the first camp was sheer poetry. :)))
