Chuck: 5/5. So gripping. Speaks volumes without spelling things out. Answers some existential quandaries many of us have considered at 2 a.m. instead of sleeping.
Titley: 3/5. A bit bloated, maybe spells too much out, rich in exposition, light on eerie wonder.

This book is a study in “what dumb b*s* is her dad going to do next” and “will they let him get away with it?” and they do let him get away with it, and it’s a miracle they’re not all dead.

Literally the worst parenting ever.
