I'm having a LOT of fun with this

you know, I'd read great things about this author but so far, my reaction to this book is very much a mixed bag :/

I like it for the most part? I think? Way better than the book I tried reading last week, A Crown of Frost, but sometimes there's little heteronormative stuff that bugs me. But hey, it's from 2009, so I can look past it for the sake of romancy fun times

I was in the mood for an easy romance winter read, and faeries are always a bonus, but I'm not really digging this so far. It's v readable, and I like some of the magic system + lore a lot, but I really, really need more build-up in a romance? It might be a matter of this not being the book for me though rather than a failure on its part (and it's a short book after all.)

Still, "Lord Blackfrost" is a DOPE name.

Nahri might be one of my favorite fantasy protagonists she's just so jglkjljdflkjgd

I barely started this so I can't comment on it too much (it's not grabbing me but I've been bad at reading lately) but I would like to say that even if everyone likes to make fun of the trend, I think the "A (blank) of (blank) and (blank)" titles are rad ✨❤️

This is ridiculous but dammit if I'm not thrilled by this

I've wanted to read this one for a long time and finally I got my hands on it through my library! I like it so far but a thing happened that has upset me (it's good stuff, but some specific types of upsets make it hard for me to enjoy things after that, so we'll see how this goes!)

(Idk where I am in the book exactly bc the Kindle app won't tell me) You know, the book isn't exactly wowing me or anything, but I'm kind of invested now. Sometimes it's just fun to read about winged people and secret magic and marriage alliances

I won't lie, the only reason I want to read this is because the cover is super pretty, though since the physical copy would take forever to get here, I bought the ebook anyway =(

But I am very excited, and I hope the book is as sparkly as the cover. Give me the sparkly romance this cover promised

This is a delight so far. Monty is making some terrible choices and I am delighted.

I am giggling oh my god... it's one of those situations where I can tell where this is going, and the main character has no idea, but instead of being frustrating, it's delightful and hilarious. This is a lovely, light read so far ❤️

I don't know if it's because I have a smol, simple brain, but I absolutely do not follow the details of the characters's plans. I'm really into the characters though (Laila??? An icon) so it makes the book really enjoyable even if I have no idea what's going on ever

I really loved the first one, and it's not that the second one isn't good, it's just not grabbing me so far :( Hopefully it's just a mood thing.

I loved When the Moon was Ours and so far, I love this just as much. The writing is so pretty!
