a geologist, a chemist, a physicist, a biologist, and a anthropologist are all brought together by a secretive govt/military org to explore an anomalous geographical feature. there have been previous expeditions but no one talks about them. only two survived the last expedition and they came back different. big “annihilation” by jeff vandermeer vibes and i mean that as a compliment 🥰
