Ugh. Cassius is sabotaging them?!

Whenever Leo and Grimm are not both on the page, I get very bored, but when they are, I can’t stop reading :D

I don’t mind all the explanations because everything is just so *interesting* - the gods, the angels, the sell-souls

I accidentally started reading book 3 (The Infinite) first. Had to wait for the new month and new Hoopla borrows to get book 1!

I love that the captain is not very good in a fight XD

After finishing The Luminous Dead, I immediately checked out another horror/SF novel (rec’d by Hoopla), cause I needed more of that in my life.

But I can’t get the book until I finish the audiobook, otherwise I’ll be tempted to read straight through and finish it!

Even though I have trouble switching formats, I’m going to try reading the print book, cause then I won’t miss stuff and can process it better

Aggghhh I think I’m going to read this book again immediately as soon as I’m done :| Not just cause I’m addicted but bc I know I’m missing stuff, and I can’t keep track of all the campsites and the routes been them (I spent the past 8 hours trying to remember what the “long drop” was)

Enjoying is not quite the right word tho- esp since the creepy stuff is starting to ramp up!

I have at least 8 hours of driving between today and tomorrow.. which means I’ll get most of the way through this book! Actually a little sad about that- I’m enjoying it so much I want to draw it out more

I also can’t believe there’s 10 more hours to go. Gyre is already so far into the cave. What more is going to happen? :O :O

I just wanna sit in my car and keep listening!

This dark night of the soul is pretty dark. Don’t know how they’re going to get past this one

The pirates will still be rapacious (mercy would ruin their business model) but only to the poor. Isn’t that actually worse?

In modern SFF, you can’t have a warrior or pirate who kills and rapes and pillages without a thought, no one would accept that. So you end up with anachronistic and/or absurd characters and situations like this one. Because if the pirates take bribes to not attack or even protect trading ships- what about the smaller, poorer operators who can’t afford to pay?

The whole ethical pirates thing is… something. I mean, I get why the author wrote it that way. I tried to create an ethical noble (he ended up having to renounce all his status and possessions and run off to be an anarchist by himself).

I can tell this is my kind of book, cause even though it’s about space pirates, it’s actually just about the interactions between the two leads XD That’s exactly how I write too.
