I just wanna say-- I picked this book up randomly just based on the back of the book waaaayyy before the whole Sarah J. Maas craze on the internet (or perhaps I should say before I was aware of it or exposed to it). I have never read a book by her. I am pushing all Vibes out of my head and will simply Read This Book for what it is and evaluate it based on normal criteria without bias. What happens after... we'll see

As a wildlife biologist, this main character is one of the worst type of people in our profession: the kind that genuinely believes that a going out to take photos and collect hair off of a single species in a single miniscule track of land is going to save the entire world. Give me a break. She needs her ego checked and hard. She's so pretentious I want to throw this book, genuinely. Shes so beyond irritating.

If random battles by random people from 1100 to 1900 interest you, this might be the book for you!
