There is good information in here, which I'm sure others would sit through. This reads like a university text book. If I wanted that kind of read, I'd go back to school. I just feel there are better books out there that cover this topic and aren't so dry. Also, the audio book narrator sounds like she's mocking people when they are quoted. So there's that.

DNF page 95. Maybe I'll try this again one day but this pacing was SO slow I was not interested in picking it up and it was putting me in a reading slump.

Will I ever finish this god forsaken series? Has this last book been the longest book ever, with being about halfway in and feeling like I should still be at the beginning cause nothing has happened? DNF at 42%. I just cant handle the way the author states everything as absolute fact. Hes not trying to have a discussion or explain how he feels and thinks. It's all absolute fact. I was giving it a shot, then he stated that violent video games and movies are responsible for a lower, darker spirit realm or something and I was like "no suburban PTA mom, we are not doing this" and I bounced.

I finally got my replacement copy of the ONLY book my dog has EVER chewed, so let's do this thing.

DNF at 21%. I seem to be having some awful luck lately. I'm not sure if its a reading slump or what, but I jut cannot make myself care about this story. Not the characters, the world, nothing. I'm struggling to remember the characters names and I literally just put down the book. I think maybe I'm not into medieval fantasy? Who knows.

I have to DNF this at 70%. It takes a lot for me to DNF an audio book, but I'm actually finding this very triggering for my anxiety. I think it's the dynamic of the main characters family that may be causing this. This is by no means the fault of this book. It just goes to show how well the author writes complex relationships. But for my own well being I have to stop.

I don't actually know how far I was, but I have to temporarily stop reading this because MY DOG ATE IT. I ordered a new copy. It will be here in a week. I'll see if I can finish another book in that time.

I'm a big wuss who got scared just changing this from "want to read" to "reading" so this should be interesting. Challenging myself this spoopy season.

Nope. I thought maybe if I listened to the audio book I would enjoy these characters more but if anything it made them more annoying. I'm done. DNF @ 22%

DNF at 30%. I tried to step out of my comfort zone and failed. I don't usually read contemporaries for various reasons, but I thought I'd give this one a try. I just cant listen to this character be judgemental and bitchy anymore. I'm sure there will be character growth, but I cant wait for that to happen.

55% through this book and they don't even have one if the artifacts they are after AND they are in the wrong timeline. I'm struggling, but I'm hoping things pick up in the second half.
