libby listen (read it years ago - time for a refresh!)

libby listen. when you choose a book because you like the author, the book length and the blurb. listening, over an hour in, wondering how on earth something could possibly exist when this book is set, thinking maybe you misread or misheard, or it was a 'today i learned' moment, so you go read more about the book, and then it makes sense. digging it so far.

This one is not as enjoyable to me. 5 hours of wordy build-up of jumping timelines and unnamed characters, and finally getting to something meaty. Hopefully.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Apple TV series, so listening to the books as a refresher before the next season. I read that the tv series is very much like the books, and so far, pretty accurate.

I do not know if I am going to make it through this book. I am listening to it on double speed. It is seriously like Invasion of the Body Snatchers meets Lord of the Flies. And I haven't even gotten that far into it as I am I'm still in the beginning stages; I can just tell this is where we're headed. All I know is there's a lot of violence and hate against women, and I'm really not here for that.
