Oof… I’m at 40% and I am so over Jory. Hate the name, hate her vibe, hate that the most sheltered person ever is gonna go from naive virgin to throuple? She is basically a boring version of Tessa. Even the character responses to her are the same “she’s so brave!” In fact, all the characters remind of characters from past books. I love Asher and don’t really see why Jory needs to be a MC.

Irinya is one of the most unlikeable, irrational characters. She makes the dumbest choices and yet still continues to believe she is right about everything. At this point, I’m mainly reading to see what nonsensical thing she’ll do next. She just blew her disguise by *randomly throwing her shoes at someone mid-conversation* soooo… can’t wait to see how she tops that.

I got through half of this book and had to let it go. It's ... not on par with Lu's other writing. The insta-love, barely fleshed-out characters... oof.
