Here story has definitely picked up and I ABSOLUTELY loved the ending. The circling of the story and Superman being the descendant of Lex Luther is just such a chef’s kiss. I mean his name is Kal-L AS IN L IN LUTHER. Just awesome and consistent within the world! Buuuuuuuuut it makes the little weird moment between Lois and Superman way weirder than it needs to be. So glad they never even spoke

Soviet Batman??? Sounds cooooooooool
But I wasn’t wowed by that installment, felt very much dragged out and middle point of the story. Maybe necessary for the world building but a bit meh on its own

Ich es wieder gelesen als ein Hörbuch auf Deutsch

Ich möchte diese Reihe, aber ich weiß nicht warum es mir so lange dauert um zu fertigeren.Ein kleines bisschen mehr in meinem Journal

Und der Glaube an den Mythos des „Selfmade“-Menschen ist arrogant.

Insgesamt glaube ich, dass dieses Buch eine tiefere Auseinandersetzung verdient – etwas, das ich mir für später vorgenommen habe, denn bisher habe ich nur einige Notizen gemacht, da ich es als Hörbuch gehört habe.

Diese Massen, die verzweifelt versuchen, ihr Selbstvertrauen und ihre Würde zurückzugewinnen, wenden sich gefährlichen Ideologien der Rechten zu.
Die ständige Demütigung durch diejenigen, die das Glück hatten, oben geboren zu werden und dann auf der sozioökonomischen Leiter noch weiter aufzusteigen, ist entmenschlichend.

Die gegenwärtige Rhetorik der Meritokratie (Gewinner gegen Verlierer – wobei die „verdienten“ Gewinner bekommen, was sie verdienen, während die Verlierer selbst schuld an ihrem Unglück sind) untergräbt das Mitgefühl, schwächt das Streben nach dem Gemeinwohl und entfremdet die Massen, die im harten globalen Wettbewerb einfach zurückgelassen wurden.

Der Erfolg eines Menschen ist nicht nur ein Spiegel seiner Anstrengungen und Talente, sondern auch seiner familiären Herkunft, seiner Gesundheit, seiner Bildung, seines Landes – kurz: seines Schicksals.

Die Meritokratie, so wie sie dargestellt wird – als ein faires und gerechtes System – ist eine Lüge. Man steigt nicht ausschließlich aufgrund seiner Leistungen oder Fähigkeiten auf; vielmehr beruhen diese Leistungen und Fähigkeiten selbst nicht nur darauf, dass man ein tugendhafter, „würdiger“ Mensch ist.

Ich habe das Buch vielleicht aus einem etwas narzisstischen Grund geliebt: Es hat meine eigene Weltanschauung bestätigt. Aber es hat sie zugleich auf eine eloquente Weise in Worte gefasst und mit Beispielen untermauert.

weiß ich, dass viele Menschen unter diesem Leid leiden, und das bricht mir das Herz. Insgesamt war die Geschichte definitiv interessant und eine meiner liebsten in der Reihe.

The first quarter of the book was insanely hard to read. And I immensely grateful to the author for the warning and making sure we know from the get go that Antsy would run away and also for including the little sentence about how her mom would’ve believed Antsy if she had told her. I hope nothing like this will happen to anyone ever, just as I hope for world peace- a utopia. But in the meantime, in reality…->

The idea of opposite of the Eleanor’s school is great and I genuinely love that they FINALLY showed the parents and kids who truly love and care for each other and how these doors are a great tragedy for the loving families. The doors are asking you to be sure. And I am sure in my decision to return to my family

I’ve read the first part of this book in the beginning of March and the rest of it today on Sept.9! Took me quite awhile even though the book is only 4 hours long. It made me think that the doors to the magic worlds or rather the return from them into gloomy gray real world is kinda similar to what I feel about finishing my studies in Vienna and starting a 9-6 office job in Almaty

Overall, great anthology, that kept me awake at work and made me feel a range of emotions, also reminded me how much I love CC’s characters and the Shadowhunter’s world, even after almost 10 years since I’ve read the first book

2) ASH IS GONNA BE SO COOL HE EVEN HAS WINGS 🤩 But I really just see him as a potentially AWESOME and COOL character, and not as a book boyfriend, I know he would have been 10 years ago 💔 I am really old, and used to have a crush on his dad…and the granddad😭

I lost connection to the Ty, Livvy and the Co. I just don’t care that much

I literally cried at the end because after Tessa said that she’s pregnant and Jem was on the cloud nine, Will came💔😭„and Will there, smiling at him. A new soul made of you and Tessa, Will said. I can hardly wait to meet such a paragon.
“Do you see him too?” Tessa whispered.
“I see him,” Jem said, and he held her even more tightly against him, the new life they had created together between them.“

Rosemary Herondale be proving that Stephen Herondale is the only Herondale who was weak in his convictions and didn’t have the signature Herondale love above all else.

Ehm… Jem and Tessa moment…YEEEEEESSSSS😂 after 10 years
It’s finally here however short. I loved this story! Alec dismantling the corrupt Institute and adopting Raphael 🥹💔 I thought they named him after the Raphael Santiago, but he is Raphael 🥹😭 Malec’s family is so beautiful

CELINE (Jace’s Mom) KILLED HER OWN PARENTS?! And made sure Valentine will give her Stephen (Jace’s dad) on a silver platter?! Even though she knew he will never love her as he loves Amatis and yet. She “wants Stephen”. It reminds me of the story of Merope Gaunt from Harry Potter. Honestly, such a heavy story, but I love this trope too much.
Also, the lost herondale plot line is fiine

This is such an awesome idea for the alternative Superman story

Great housewife-esque thriller. Perfect for background noise (beim Arbeit). Read liked immersive production and plot twists

Overall, it made made experience such a wide range of emotions and realize that I am slowly growing out of Young Adult and lean more toward adult fiction (I mentally compare my experience recent reading of YA and this book).
Well-written, gut wrenching, heart breaking novel that is about to stay with me for a looooong time
