They found grandpa face down in the sleet. He sprung his ankle pretty bad. They built a fire and warmed him up. BIlly took the coon skins and hung over the fire to warm them up and wrapped papa's ankle up in them. The hounds took off again. It was starting to become day light. The other hunters from camp came and rescued them. After that they went and found the hounds, they stayed treed the whole night.

The storm was coming and they decided to give it more more try at treeing a coon. The storm had came and it was horrible. The dogs were far in the woods and Billy couldn't hear them anymore. Everyone else wanted to give up and turn back but billy. They looked everywhere then Little Ann finally came to them. She lead them to Old dan and he was treed. Looking back Grandpa was gone.

On the day of the last night to hunt people around the camp are putting money in a pot to make a bet on who will win. During the night's hunt as they turned loose it only took fifteen minutes and the first coon was treed. As the approached the second one a bad storm came upon him.

On there night to hunt they had to kill three coons to still be in the hunt! As the night was running out they only had two coons. As they got on the tract for the second one they had to cross a river and Grandpa got wet. When they reached the third one they made a fire for grandpa. With no time to spare the hounds treed the third coon and got a safe spot for the next night to hunt.

They were eating supper that night and they all went to bed. Billy was awaken by a owl and he thought he heard two which mean't bad luck. They woke up early next morning and got to the hunting grounds and set up camp. There were alot of people. Billy got intimidated by all the other dogs. He got a surprised when he found out he had to pick one of his dogs for a best looking hound contest. He ended up picking Little

Billy, Papa, and his grandpa all left for the big coon hunt. They got all the equipment ready the night before. The winner of this hunt gets a big trophy. They stop by a stream and get water, then back on the road. They stop at Bluebird Creek and set up the camp for the night.

Billy went to the Pritchards house to pay his respects. He hid on the hillside looking at his grave as Rubins mom came to his grave. After visiting his house he went to his grandpa's store to tell him the story

Rubin and Billy started argueing and then they heard noise near them. It was Rubin's dog. Billy's dogs got in a fight with his dog. Both Little Ann and Old Dan jumped on him, they tore the old Bluetick up. Rubin grabbed Billy's ax and went for the dogs. Rubins foot got caught up in a bush and tripped and fell on the ax.

Billys dog were so called treed. Billy climbed up the tree and didn't see the coon. He thought he lost so he paid the two dollars. As the wind was blowing his dogs picked up the scent and his dogs were back on the trail. His dogs ended up treeing it. Billy climbed the tree to get it down for his dogs but he couldn't kill it.

The race is on anf the ghost coon is getting tired. He has played so many tricks on the old hounds but that didn't stop them from keeping on his track. The dogs quit barking and Rubin said he is in that same old tree that he always disapears in.

Billy and the Pritchard boys have a bet and they are in the middle of it. The bet was Billy's dogs couldn't tree a coon they called a ghost coon. Little Ann and Old Dan are on a hot track!

Billy and his dogs are out coon hunting when Old Dan played a trick. He went into a muskrat den and had billy scared to death. The next night Old dan pulled another trick, he climbed up into the tree with the coon. Billy had to get in the tree to get Old Dan.

Billy is telling about his pride in his coon hides. When he goes to his grandfathers shop he talks with all the other coon hunters about their hunting. Billy gets picked on by the other hunter about the size of his hounds. Even though he out hunts all the other hunters their.

After about two long and hard days it is finally over. With a big strong wind, the tree couldn't stand up anymore. As soon as that coon hit the ground the race was back on. Little Ann got on top of it and gave it what she had. Moments later Old Dan came to help with this tag team that old coon was done. After all that hard work they finally got their first coon.

As Billy wakes up and leaves the house he notices Old Dan is missing. Lou Ann is at the porch waiting on him. He can hear Old Dan barking in the back ground. They both run to the tree. He notices Old Dan has been at that tree all night. He got mad at Little Ann because he thought she was at the house the whole time while Old Dan was at the tree. A few minutes later he realizes he was wrong.

Billy went home for the night to rest up. Billy and his grandpa made a scare crow to make sure that coon doesn't leave that tree. Soon as morning comes up he eats breakfest and gets back to the tree.

It is the night they have all been waiting for! opening night of coon seasons finally here upon them. Billy and his dogs went to the Ozarks mountains and turn loose. They finally strike a coon and tree him. They tree him in the biggest tree in the woods. Billy is trying to cut down the tree with a ax so far it has been two days and he is still working on it,

Bill went to Taliqhau to get his two coon hounds. He didn't like the town or the people. He did like the marshal. He was on the way home and set up a camp in a cave. Later that night a mountain lion cam and scared him. The next day he adventured home, With one more stop he finally named the dogs. The boy was Dan and the girl was Ann. When he got home His parents weren't mad just worried.

Billy is telling us about his trophies he caught in this trap. He has caught their cat in it several times. He is telling us his struggle about begging his mom to get a coon dog and it is not working.

Billy Saw a red bone getting in a dog fight and he helped him. This led to his memories back in his boy hood. We found out he had two red bones of his own named Lou Ann and Dan.

I am finished h this book. When I first saw this book I thought it was going to be about boxing. It surprised me though, would you take the fall for someone else? Well Micheal ended up doing that and it hurt him in the end. He took the blame for the pot in his locker. This got him in so much trouble. He is kicked out of school. Everything he worked for is gone. His track season, job, and shelly gone just like that

Micheal goes and hangs out with shelly to talk to her about everything. He doesn't know if he should tell on Joey or not. He goes to his house to talk to him but he is not home. Michael hangs out with Joey's dad and talks to him. He also has soup with his dad.

Micheal is telling us about a memory he had with shelly. He is confused about his feelings towards her. She is leaving for college soon and he doesn't really like that.

Michael is the main character not Jay I don't know why I got mixed up between them. Micheal and Shelly are at the movies having a good time when Tucker called him about information on the drug sweep. Tucker tells him that they found four joints in his locker.

Jay goes to shelly's house because they are going to the movies. He gets there early and chills in her room until she gets out the shower. We find out shes going to Bucknell University. After they get ready they begain to walk out the door and head to the movies.

Jay talks about a old proffessor named Thomas M. Kerrigan who was born and raised in scrantom. The he goes home and talks about college with hid dad.

Jay is practicing for the 800-meter dash. He is also doing this to get his mind off the situation at school.

Joey and Jay meet up to talk about how joey has weed in jay's locker. Its not even jay's fault why he has weed in his locker.

Jay is practicing, he runs to the school but they wont let him in because they are doing a drug sweep in the school. He finds out a couple people got busted. Then he goes to shelly's house and they talk about going to the movies on a sunday but to jay they are just friends.

The kid is named jay. He starts his practice for the track team with three of his buddy's
