WOW. I haven’t read a full book in one day for a long time, and although this is shorter than it seems (it’s bilingual) I could barely put it down. These reflections are so insightful and profound, personal and also universal. Jhumpa Lahiri talks about language but she also talks about life and identity. A truly amazing book.

Insipid and implausible melodrama.

A book randomly picked up from a hotel lobby… you never know!

Much of this I could take or leave, but some of it is definitely 5*, especially Words, Wide Night and the entire collection Mean Time.
