Why do I always forget how much I like CWs writing style? Must remember to read more Wendig.

Painfully slow so far...if read this graveyard description ONE. MORE. TIME.
I get it, the stones are old and crumbley...there are weeds, it is overgrown, and there are trees.
Nope. I'm returning this one, declaring DNF.

I love that this book reads like my mind processes. Delish.

I loved the premise of this book, then when I started it I remembered why I stopped reading this series. The dialogue is stilted, unrealistic, and so wholly pretentious that my head hurts from rolling my eyes every time one character talks to another.
I have to finish now, but mental note: No more Eve Duncan.
This storyline could have been SO good too.

I love this book. I am not familiar with Deos, Brujas, or the traditions associated with these Mythos...so I really have no idea how true they hold, but I LOVE this series!

So unlike my usual fare, but I can't seem to stop reading. Lyrical and unexpected- I am enjoying this ride.

Much better paced....until the end. REALLY?!?!
Beast disappears, leaving Jane high and dry...then BOOM. Suddenly reappears somewhere on the last page- no explanation, no details..just "I am happy, Beast is back". Ridiculously silly- why even bother to make that a thing if you aren't going to address it? GrRrR.

Even if it was obvious at times, it did really make me keep reading. In fact, as the final scenes played out, I found myself closing the book, sipping my coffee...trying to draw out finishing. Surely the mark of a good book.

Sometimes, especially in the beginning, the language was a tad pretentious...but overall, amazing. True madness that dragged me in to smell the embers, touch Mr Furrington, and watch Marvin bleed out one the floor.

I am constantly being surprised with this one. Very interesting perspective. Great, actually.

Every time I start to roll my eyes at the teen(ish) angst, a tidbit of gorgeous metaphorical writing reels me back in. I am so loving that.

yep. I hate this book. did it really just end that way?

I might hate this book. The punctuation and overuse of the word DUDE... ugh.
