Re-listening to this one with my husband who was looking for something fun to take a break from his usual diet of history and non-fiction. Actually enjoying it more the second time around.

Relatively short book but pacing is very slow. A good read so far but I wish I was reading this during a slower time of the year.

Tough read. Taking frequent breaks with this one as it’s difficult to read about this kind of pain/trauma.

So happy to begin another Greta Van Helsing story. My impression was that the author was done with this series but the characters are so much fun and the stories are so creatively weird.

Try as I might, I just can’t resist a Langdon installment. Hooks me every time.

I need some comedy that will take me to 11. This should work.

I’ve somehow missed reading this classic although it was a favorite of my father. A recent visit to Flanders fields as well as a renewed interest in my grandfather’s service on the western front made me decide that there is no time like the present to begin. 20 pages in and I’m already lost in the bleak imagery of No Man’s Land. I think I’ll need a comedy after this…

Took a minute for me to figure out the characters but I was all in when after a few chapters. Good fun.

This is not what I expected but I’m going with it! I would be so lost if I did not have prior knowledge of Guelphs, Ghibellines, HRE vs Pope, a rudimentary knowledge of Latin, multiple university courses in Italian history, and some Catholic school education. For some reason I thought it was more along the lines of historical fiction/medieval detective story. I didn’t see the movie but remember it was popular.

Have been unable to put this down since starting this a few hours ago. Beautifully written, heartfelt, and raw.

I loved the Hunger Games Trilogy and started this one without really thinking it through. I’m not sure if this was the right time to start a dystopian novel but here we are.

Really struggling with this one. The writing is beautiful but I’m just not connecting with a story yet.

Never heard of this actress or any of her hit tv shows but the title kept showing up in my good reads feed. It’s a brutal read but the author injects smart/dark humor to get the reader through it. Looking forward to finishing this book and hoping that this young woman has more stories to share. Very promising!
