Oh I’m having such a good time

I’ve been an ina garten fan for as long as I can remember from being 5 watching it after school to being 20 up late studying and needing something on amidst the silence and I am so excited to listen to her read this book. My goal this year is to read 5 nonfiction books and this would be my first one. So exciting!!

This is so bad but I also can’t stop reading. I wanted to read something very different from my previous book and my planned next book so I settled on this mafia romance that I downloaded onto my kindle like 3 years ago but it’s actually so bad I’m not certain I’ll be able to finish it. Should’ve just gone to wattpad for a mafia fic but i like ao3 more and the entire website is down

I have a gut feeling that this won’t be a happy ending so I’m putting off finishing it until before bed

Ann Arbor Michigan mention in a book that takes place in London and Ireland?? I literally gasped out loud as if there was a jump scare or a grand reveal lol maybe a tad bit dramatic but also what are the odds? This is the first American reference of the entire book that’s kinda crazy

Hoping I’m back in my reading era I haven’t wanted to even touch a book for the past two weeks but all three of my library books are due in 5 days so it’s grind time

I read to page 59 on Friday (Feb 6) but forgot to update and just read another 30 pages today/wednesday. This is written so poignantly but it is also tackling extremely heavy topics that makes it hard for me to want to pick it up at times

Reading my last Spotify audiobook before joining a family plan and losing audiobook access 😭

Weird reading day today I would read for 5 minutes then get called by someone, five more minutes, errand with my mom, 10 minutes, time for dinner but I think I got a solid 60 pages done and I’m really enjoying this. Love the budding romantic banter mixed with the Ives storyline

I’m really enjoying this so far I love that we have 2 different stories going on (the romance and the interview) and I’m a big fan of them both. It is much much later than I expected to stay up but it’s worth it because I feel like I’ve been in a mini anti-reading mood this weekend so I’m glad to shake that feeling

I’m ready to tackle the Great BBL fiasco of 2025. I’ve only read the first chapter so far but it seems like an interesting plot and I’m excited to read the book that everyone says doesn’t feel like Emily Henry’s writing (because I’ve been underwhelmed by the other two EmHen books I’ve read in the past) from what I understand this book is very divisive among her fans

I have so many theories running through my head I’m having the time of my life. This isn’t the most complex story so far but there’s a good edge of mystery that leaves you wanting to know what will happen next, who someone truly is, and how that event just occurred

I’ve read a lot of ya fantasy in the last 6-8 months so I have high-ish standards for this series based on what I’ve heard about it. At the same time I’ve also heard the second trilogy (once upon a broken heart) is much better than this one BUT that this gives you so much more context into the second series. We shall see see how much I actually like it. I think it’ll be quick and I like the letters/fun pages

This has taken such a beautiful turn I’m really really enjoying this book

JENNA MENTION!!!! This one also seems like such a minor nobody character who probably won’t be mentioned again but I thought that last time then book Jenna literally died so hopefully at the very least THAT doesn’t happen again

About halfway through, just got to part 4, and I haven’t felt any of the slowness/dragging that everyone talks about. Maybe it’s still to come but I’m really enjoying this so far. Still planning on reading more tonight but I wanted to give my halfway point update

I was going to read for the whole night but I doomscrolled and dilly dallied for a few hours and only actually read about 40 pages 🫠🫠

I’ve heard this has a really slow middle with a really incredible ending so I’m going to stick through even if it’s slow (I think it’s been good so far though)

I still don’t trust Ariadne (I have zero reason not to trust her, this isn’t a mystery novel)

The cozy British-ness of this book is so cozy and British I love it

I think this is the furthest I’ve ever made it in this book besides the first time I read it in high school (I think that time I made it 80 or 90ish pages) so I figured I’d drop a cheeky little update. Doing this for you Lauren. It’s short and I’m convinced this time is the time (it’s literally my 5th or 6th time starting this book)

Got through a bit more during various times in the past few days. Definitely hooked way quicker than I was with book one

I went into this basically blind and it has gotten so dark so quickly I didn’t not expect any of this I’m in a bit of shock

New characters??? I feel like ariadne is a double agent and rose is actually the good guy

I’m starting to become attached to certain characters 😁😁

This book changes pov so often I want to know a total tally. Still setting up the plot but this town seems to really like hockey and I think we’ve gotten a pov from literally every person that lives there

The font size in Lauren’s book is so little it was hurting my eyes to focus at the end of a day where I didn’t get much sleep so I downloaded the ebook and realized my eyes just hurt because I was simply just tired. It’s still too early to have an opinion but the first chapter has me hooked. This is very different from the last hockey book I read though (heated rivalry 😛)
