I was hooked from the first page. The protagonist awakens from "suspended animation" with no memory of even his own name. Gradually he struggles to put the pieces together, from flashes of memory and insights he gains from his environment. As the story develops, it draws you in further. It's science fiction with a focus on the science.

So much fun. A fascinating look behind the scenes, indulgent nostalgia, and plenty of Lols along the way.

I read a few of the stories, kind of funny. You definitely see the connection to the early work of Woody Allen. Kind of got tired of it after a while though.

The book goes deep into the science of what is happening in your fish-tank. If you are an aquarium geek and you want to get results like the ones you see in the shops, or on the internet, this may be the book for you. Especially if you want to do that on a budget. Having said that, my own attempts at a "Walstad" tank have been disastrous. I think the soil that I used may have been supplemented with fertilizers.

Yeah, while I enjoyed some of the stories in this collection, I think I am over it. Maybe I'll come back and finish it another time.

I was looking for light & fun reading when I saw that David Sedaris had written the forward. Although her novels appeared to be more highly acclaimed, I like short stories sometimes, because they are easier to fit into my life. You can read bit, Do something else, read something else and then come back for a quick read. This collection has some definite highlights, but overall my one-word review? meh.

A very thoughtful analysis and discussion of how economic inequality threatens American democracy. Former Sec. of Labor, Richard Reich examines the history and the processes that have led is to this moment.

Our current problems aren't unique, we've been here before, Both Roosevelts took on the monopoly powers of their times to create a more broadly shared prosperity.
