It's occurred to me that Nik's transformation is in some ways similar to Eustace's in "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader".

OK, not totally free but Audible is having a promotion of 3 months for 99 cents per month so almost free. Also, it's only a borrow as I can only have it in my library as long as I'm a member. However, as an HP fanatic I've really wanted the chance to listen to this new version so I'm very excited to do so.

So much better the second time around. I just finished Book 1 and am looking forward to Book 2. I think part of my enjoyment is because of my positive experience reading the second series,."A Mage's Apprentice". Anyway, I've returned the library book and now own my own copy.

After reading "A Mage's Apprentice", I now want to go back and give this series another try. TBD...

I absolutely loved "The Spoken Mage" and "The Hidden Mage" and own both the books and audiobooks. However, I only sort of liked "A Mage's Apprentice".

However, since a master storyteller like Melanie Cellier actually had me rooting for Princess Ava after her despicable behavior in "The Princess Companion", I'm going to give her a chance to redeem Nik after his bad behavior in "A Mage's Apprentice".

Only 38 pages in and I LOVE Cadence and Matt!!!!

Trying a new author after reading Obsidian's wonderful review.

I'm going to give this author another try. After absolutely loving her first two books, I found her next few hard to get into as the MCs were hard to like as was the underlying preachiness. Anyway, I'm hoping that this story is right up there with "How to Fail at Flirting" and "The Fastest Way to Fall" since they are both two of my favorite books and perennial re-reads. TBD

I love the fast paced, snarky dialogue similar to "The Gilmore Girls". So entertaining!

Just bought this old favorite on Kobo for 99 cents. This is one of my favorite Mansell books and it's been too many years since I re-read it.

This dialogue is so brilliant!!! Katherine Center, you are awesome!!!

🤣😂🤣The frozen vegetables/people falling on top of each other scene is right up there with the Hannah and the cows scene in "The Bodyguard"! Hilarious!
