Why do so many of these m-m romantasies begin with a sham, forced, or arranged marriage?? Is it supposed to be sexy or interesting? Why can't people meet and fall in love under less contrived circumstances? Like meeting at a tavern trivia night, or working in the castle together, or crossing paths on a trade route? Maybe romantasy is not my genre.

I'm over an hour in, and there's a 50-50 chance this is going to be terrible

I have to keep taking breaks from this book - the characters just keep making too many awful decisions. So far, there has been no plot point like the twist that compelled me through The Secret History to keep me wanting to read about these very unlikeable people.
