The book is great but the audio version is marked by readers mispronunciation of several of the characters names, as well as some basic words. It is irritating that the reader did not take the time to learn and make the effort to pronounce the main character’s name better. Also, the Iranian neighbors name is a common one and not that difficult to pronounce. Obviously no one bothered to check it.

Boring.

Pretty good. Avoids the usual cliches.

Good but it went back before I could finish it.

Depressing. I Couldn’t take any more descriptions of the horrendous privations and torments under the Japanese occupation. . I’m not going to finish it.

Wrong book for me. I didn’t know it was YA. I’ve outgrown captive princesses.

I won’t be able to finish listening to this in the time I have from the library. I need to buy it.

Boring.

I don’t know why this is here. I forget ever picking it up.
