I was not the target audience for this book. As a listener of the author's podcast, none of the information was new to me. Its content is important and should be talked about more, but I did not finish due to redundancy.

I'd love to see a fantasy adventure romance that features a tall, curvy woman as the heroine. So many stories of small, petite women and girls with striking eyes and unknown strength. It gets old.

Eliza is driving me crazy

I don't know...as a historian reading about someone who thinks they're acting like a historian...parts are a little unbelievable and no gets that lucky when researching.

Matthew is kind of an ass.

I'm noticing that between all the female characters in this series, there isn't a whole lot to differentiate them from one another. Aelin, Yrene, Nesryn, Elide, Lysandra....they all pretty much have the same personalities riddled with childhood trauma. Maybe I'm being overly harsh but Maas sure recycles the same traits between all the women.

I'm having a hard time switching back and forth between fair stuff and murder stuff.

I'm really liking it so far...an interesting look at class, social mobility, and being a shy introvert in a world of rich extroverts, expected to entertain and command an estate.

I listened to about half of this book and its just meh.
I love space and science, but I found myself zoning out and not paying attention. We'll see if I try again.

I just noticed that of the 31 books I read this year most of them were written by women. Only 8 out of 31 were written by men (roughly 25%). This was not a conscious decision, but I love that I was naturally drawn to these stories. Maybe for 2021 I'll shoot for books by women or by people of color. A good goal, I think.
