Fourth time trying, and I just can't seem to get into this book. Love the start with all the media reports, then I get bored. Too many characters maybe?

I just can't do it.

Now he's getting preachy about God and angels as though your creativity and talent and purpose are determined by these things.

Yikes again... Ignore your "rationalizations" like a tough job or your 8-months pregnant wife, you know, because Tolstoy had 13 kids and wrote War and Peace (BTW, he cheated on his wife and was a terrible father, look it up) and Lance Armstrong won three tours while battling cancer (and, you know, doping).

Starting to think this guy is completely full of shit.

Oh, yikes. ADHD and other anxieties and disorders are made up by copywriters? No.
I was with him for awhile and then it got a little weird. This is harmful thinking. Taking a break to read another book.

This book is absurd. Hilarious when I don't think it means to be.
All women are sluts, apparently.

Unfortunately, I feel like this is heavily focused on Wicca rather than the overarching Paganism she claims.

Cute so far. Well written but a little repetitive with the inner monologue about her love interest.

Yeah, just can't seem to get invested. No matter how short the book. DNF'ing at 53%.

I am really struggling through this for some reason.

While his highly hypothetical ideas are interesting, I am struggling with these stories that are just exposition with no narrative thread.

My god, how do people enjoy this book. While I am enjoying the characterization, it is literally just chapter after chapter of Anne speaking exposition.

I chuckled a few times during these first few chapters. But as I went to pick it up today, I was not in the mood. I can only take so much of this style of humor for so long. I need a break from this book.

I am enjoying the concept. And I feel like I want to keep reading, but it's a struggle. I may have to put it aside for the time being.

Third story... Meh. Loving the style of narration though.

Second story started really well, super interesting. The finish was still good, but not really what I was hoping for.

Tower of Babylon was interesting. Don't have strong feelings about it, but I am enjoying Chiang's writing style so far. Was expecting sci-fi, so a little surprised to read something a little more fantasy-based.

Things have slowed down a bit, and I'm a little less interested, especially since I have another book I want to get to. The sex scenes are overly corny.

Despite having this on my TBR, I was not excited to read it with my book club. I went in expecting historical fiction and was blown away by the crazy, action-packed alternate dystopian history.

Oh man, I wanted to love
