I think it’s getting a little more interesting. I like the cutaway chapters.

Ofc the only black woman in this book is betrayed and left to fend for herself.

Mostly just people drama more so than paranormal investigation. Also, the audiobook is great but can also be a little confusing. I thought Kevin and Jake were the same person based on voice alone; and Claire’s voice actress’ vocal fry is really annoying to me.

I was definitely getting bored halfway through, but now I’m interested again. We’ll see how long it’ll take for me to finish but it’s a chore right now.

Oh okay so we’re just making epiphanies out loud with no prior knowledge.

So far, the clues of the mystery are just being revealed rather than being discovered naturally. Not really compelling story yet.

Kinda reminds me of Mike Flanagan’s The Haunting of Hill House - but overall it feels a little generic and not very scary. I hope the last half of this book makes up for it, but I’ve heard this book has a lot of mixed reviews.
