This book's page numbers are reversed so at this point I have 480 pages left to read; nearly the halfway point. This is an epic story, so rich I've had to take breaks to read other things. I actually enjoy taking my time with it. Coming back to it again and again is like returning to a spot by the fire with an old friend who picks up the story where they left off, saying expansively, "Now, where were we..."

This book is a great chronicle of Chinese medicine, to my reading, laying bare the bones of a collection of beliefs about healing for analysis. I am looking forward to reading through all the books in this series.

ahh, just as satisfying as the anime!

Urk, this is taking me a long time to read, too distracted by GN suggestions.

Alas, I spend more time writing and thinking about writing than I do reading. My progress is slow and I have dropped books that I've started, saving them for when I'm not so preoccupied.

Somewhat depressing, seems to be a "what if" version of the Marvel universe. Interesting, but more like a background story that's made foreground. Not sure if I like it...

Finished Carmilla a few days ago, a seriously strange tale equating homosexuality to vampirism. The Victorians had some definite hang ups about sex...great story though.

Finished Vampyre by Polidori. Good horror story with no redemption. Bad guys win!

Something to you I must tell that, while reading Coleridge's Christobel, I've realised I am not adverse to reading stories set in verse.

Although her writing style has not impressed me, it could be seen as a representation of the thinking of the main character of the book who narrates the,story. It still rankles...

I'm not sure how I feel about this book...
