There isn't a strong conflict apart from Su Yi's sickness. While the small flashbacks are interesting, the overall story isn't as engaging yet.

Binita is 78% done with Fun Reunion! Meet, Greet, Murder (Milo Rathkey #2)
The story isn't focused solely on the murder, which is both interesting and also distracting. It's a fun read!

I feel like I'm still waiting for the book to really get started. Everything feels like a set up so far. I am still excited for the eye-opening advice and perspectives.

There is gore, just as in the Hunger Games, though it similarly contributes to the suspense and the connection the reader can form with the characters and their situation.
The point of view of the story helps build the necessary background to understand the society in a dystopian novel. The language is simple, yet the story line moves along with short bouts of suspense to keep the reader entertained.

Recent change in POV has lost my interest a bit. I understand the introduction of Ivy and the further details to grasp a bit more of the past, but it seems uninteresting now because there isn't enough connection to the people, places, and things the book has made us familiar with thus far.
