Ok so now that I'm halfway through I can see that emerald fennels version is literally a fan fiction of this book.

These characters are unhinged crazy selfish and dark. It's like reading just horrible gossip of the 1800s . Some pretty solid quotes but set in the context of this book I'm just loling but how absurd these people are. Def don't have to read b4 the movie but I'm here now.

"I love my murderer" it is pretty iconic . I think that healthcliff and Cathy hate and are disgusted with each other so much it turns into love . and than they convinced themselves it was a one of a kind passionate love .

At least they are on the same wavelength . Poor Nelly just trying to be a good maid
