Not gonna lie, I may be giggling and kicking my feet right now.

I love the atmosphere of this book, it is just the perfect mix of mystery and nostalgia for us 90%

So far this book is… steamier than Kingdom of the Wicked. Not that I’m complaining, considering we’ve ventured into literal hell, just surprised that right off the bat in chapter two it’s like “OH YOU’LL BE TESTED FOR ALL OF THE SINS AND HERE’S LUST”

So, I love the story. I love the world. The one thing I do not love is Mr. Brighton. He reminds me of every entitled, annoying dude bro I’ve ever met, honestly... and I get the vibes that this is like a villain origin story? Maybe I’m wrong and he has a redemption arc in the last half of the book, but at this point I’m like groaning through his chapters 🙃

I have so many questions... most of which are spoilery maybe so I’m going to just toss them into a note or something. But this is super fun so far! The author is a pro at creating the ambiance/setting and like emotion a place/moment in a book. If that makes sense, I also need sleep 😂

I’m really enjoying how lush and diverse this story is! I love that Soraya has this touch of darkness in her but constantly tries to be a good person... I totally feel like that’ll change soon though. I also really like the div character. She’s like the devil on Soraya’s shoulder imo.
