Fantastic book so far but big ass CW for (specific) weight mention, food, fatphobia, diet culture etc and all that jazz if that so bothers you

I do love and have read most of Jodi Picoult’s books over the years, but this is so different and unlike her usual style but in a really good way lol

First book on the new Kindle baybeeeee

Almost a year later and the puppy is finally trained enough that I can listen to audiobooks on walks lol

60% of the way through and my god, I think Maurice is one of my most hated protagonist of all time

A working class North East gal with a love/hate relationship with London trying to fit it. Almost too on the nose 😬

Nonetheless appreciate the familiarity of both and being able to place the regional, specific references - so relatable. Good narrative that makes the jumping between several timeframes and locations easy to do/not confusing

Nothing like a few weeks off work to finally dedicate time to a 1,000+ pager aka the longest book I’ve attempted (the unopened copy of Les Mis I bought in 2012 is judging me so much rn)

My main takeaway so far is that I’m just so glad I didn’t start this when I originally shelved it in February 2020

Not expecting much from this but can’t resist a Jodi Picoult book, I maintain my opinion that she is the adult equivalent for the 00’s Jaqueline Wilson girlies

How frustrating and painful that all of the stats and information, bar a few Eastern European country names, in this book are still so accurate. Borrowed from a friend to keep me motivated as I work in a male dominated team/industry and am starting to face inequalities

Really enjoying this but very uncomfortable with the way ED’s are being presented - a little too “how to” guide. This is NOT written for someone who is struggling.
“Anyone with an ED can tell when anyone else has an ED” but also know when people talk about it to 1) tell their story/raise awareness or 2) do it to make themselves feel better/validate their illness.

The protagonist has 2 golden retrievers so I’m hooked already
