Soooo good.

I know of Dorothy Kilgallen by reputation, my mother often spoke of her as one of the most powerful and intelligent women of her generation. She also told me there was no question that her death was suspicious. Reading this is like a trip back through history in politics, crime, and entertainment. Can't put it down. Will probaby stay up late to finish it.

My next foray into Dorothy B. Hughes work. This one is set in Manhattan in 1942, and the female protagonist is investigating a case on the down low. It's fascinating to read about New York back then, the same streets and neighborhoods, some of the same places i've grown up walking around. So far an excellent read.

Can't believe I never got around to this. So far, wonderful.
