regrettably a DNF for me. unclear where it’s going and I don’t find any of the characters really compelling.

Got the ARC back in September but then oopsy! Barely read for months. Intriguing so far :D

So we were at the bookstore and Justin pointed out this book as a way to reach my 2021 reading challenge. He sold it as “a story about this guy that wakes up one day as an insect, but his family doesn’t know he’s an insect, so he figures out what to do.” Fair enough. I guess we’ve all been there.

I can't stop thinking about how Maria's characterization sounds a lot like how Didion describes herself in the first essay in The White Album, which flash-cuts to a psychiatric description of herself. So detached. Spooky.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIFYING

Can't decide if I like it; I normally am not into love novels, what this book seems to be, but at the same time I'm having trouble putting this book down.
