If she brings up the pandemic again, I’m quitting

a slow burn for sure (pun not intended!) but a totally satisfying read

wasn’t sure about this one as it was more anecdotal than I prefer, but the author’s style was completely charming and the anecdotes were actually filled with very practical and achievable steps for a solid marriage, no matter what stage you may be in (don’t be thrown by the match-making subhead)

2024: audiobook this time (read by Julia Whalen, so my previous review likely will get kicked up a full star); gearing up for baseball season!

Audio read by Mary Sarah with L&C this time. So so funny to hear Anne’s constant “tongue-wagging” instead of reading it silently to myself

Started it on audio in the car with the kids. They found it difficult to follow the story and I didn’t think the narrator was that great. We’ll try again another time.

Loving this (almost as good, so far, as Code Name Verity) but have had no time to read fiction the last couple of weeks other than a page or two right before falling asleep at night. Have to return it to the library so shelving this title for now to eagerly return to it properly in the fiction-friendly days of summer 🤞🏻

Thought I would like listening to the audio because the author reads it himself, but this CA girl can’t handle the slow Southern drawl. Even listening double-time I find myself just leisurely strolling along the walking path with no aerobic motivation at all.

Hardly any backyard pool reading this summer (I blame actual vacations for this problem 🤣) but the parts I did get to read were piratey and fun!

Cam-and-mom-only read aloud while Leila is in a class ❤️ to be accompanied by donuts, bonuts, or biscuits whenever possible

it has come to my attention that I'm a "mood reader" which is probably why I put this book to the side when the weather turned warm in the spring. Now that we're back to cold temperatures and nights by the fire, I've pulled this back out and am determined to finish before the seasons change again.

This is my "only in the pool" read - an old mass market copy I got for a quarter at the library bookstore. The pool has literally been shelved for the season, so this book is going up too. See you in 2021!

Just two paragraphs in we find out Tigris is Snow’s cousin ... which makes her appearance in Mockingjay even more poignant and I have just so many questions I hope will be answered in the next 517 pages. (Is it normal for a woman of my age to be this excited to read a YA book? 😂🤗😂)

Not even halfway through and it had to be returned to the library; this book is enormous! Back on the waiting list ...

mostly skimmed the chapter on gut health TBH

For checking off the last category of Anne Bogel’s 2019 reading challenge (a book outside of my normal, comfortable genres) ... this certainly fits the bill and is interesting so far but I probably should have picked a shorter book! Not sure I’ll make it through all 574 pages in 10 CHRISTMAS-and-houseguest-filled days.

Only a tenth of the way through and I’m already sure this is the best book I’ve ever read.
