Always knew Michael Crichton as a lover of science, but this is proving he loved history as well.

Written in a way that makes you feel like you’re inside the brain of a woman who’s really going through it. It’s really great.

First two sections feel like a fun metatexual exercise, but it’s in the third section where ideas begin to connect. How the written word and the sheer power of money can influence the very fabric of reality. Powerful and scary stuff. Hard to put this book down.

Whitley Strieber is such a goof. This book terrified me to my core when I read a portion of it as a kid. Reading it now, I’m laughing at Strieber’s humble brags, his outlandish theories, and his shamelessness. He’s almost like a real life version of Garth Marenghi.
