DNF tapped out at Ch 6, will not be continuing. I just couldn’t read this one anymore. It sounds wonderful and lush from the summary but it’s very deceiving. It’s mostly just two siblings struggling and partying along in Denver. If the title didn’t tell me it was the 1930s you wouldn’t be able to tell from any characters lines or conversations.

A book about an apothecary who helps women take revenge on the awful men in their life. And the most unbelievable part is that a 12 yr old girl who grew up on a farm in a farming family has no knowledge of menstruation at all. Really, never figured out what ewes, cows, dogs had with their fertile times?? These things may be “unspoken” but in a farming community you get some basic knowledge.
