Didn't like this one. The ending depressed me and several story threads felt like they were pointless. The good initial setup that drew me in felt wasted.

(p350) ... and apparently keeping secrets... well, now what is Jane supposed to do?

Jane has moved from Lowood to Thornfield and is just getting a feel for the place. The mysterious Mr. Rochester, whom I've heard is sort of the point, has been mentioned but has not actually appeared yet. I think people are devided on what happens between them (love it or hate it), so even though I'm not sure what it is, I'm looking forward to finding out where I fall.

I'm fairly sure I haven't read this book before. I vaguely remember studying this era in English, but I think we were given an option to choose and I went with Pride and Prejudice, given my love for the '95 miniseries.
Currently I'm just getting started on the "charity school" section, and already I dislike the headmaster. Which I realise I'm supposed to. It is unfortunate that he's a clergyman, though.
