Interesting read

A very interesting book based on a part of WWII history that I was unaware of.
Clear, but brutal in its telling, this amazing story gallops along leaving one breathless in its wake. A great r ead.

Great book with an unusual ending, but more than all ends tied up neatly

I found the book a lot less enjoyable than I expected, having read most of her others. I felt the characters were two-dimensional with the exception of Masha and Yao.
It seemed that the plot peaked when the experiment began, and a lot of the book from there on seemed to rotate and not make any progress in the story or characters revealing themselves.
The ending was like chapter outlines and disappointing.
