The love/horror story is such a strange concept…

Horror/thriller in Nicholas Sparks's voice just.... isn't working for me. It's not scary, despite him writing scary scenes. Absolutely mind-bending.

Concurrent/simultaneous read with James - jotting down the chapters I switch off with in case I’m not the only crazy person who wanted to do it that way.

I've been going hard at this... can't recommend it highly enough!

Joe is writing in the Stephen King universe 😭 We got a nod to The Dead Zone’s Greg Stillson and see the gun Johnny used to shoot at him with. Fun stuff.

WOOF. If you like an unreliable narrator, this is the book for you.

There's nothing quite like starting a book only to log it in Goodreads and realize you've already read it. Maybe this time it will stick!
So far my biggest complaint is that Marie says my tidying must be done all at once... Marie, I do not have that much time! I do have 10-15 minutes a day, so we'll see where that gets me (it apparently won't be life-changing).

And Then There Were None meets Murder on the Orient Express and great fun is had... I'm hooked. Definitely not your typical Riley Sager but oh-so-good.

I cannot recommend this highly enough - Franke is a wonderful writer and the story is fascinating. I have other books I'm reading, but this is the one I can't put down.

Reminds me of How to Sell a Haunted house - a slow start dedicated to world-building but we're picking up pace now. Not gonna lie, I have high hopes for this one.

I love when Sager leans into the supernatural - 9 times out of 10 he ends with a rational explanation. We'll see if that's how this goes!

I'm having so much fun reading this - I agree with the publisher so far, it feels like Grady Hendrix at least in the originality of it. Super unique, super compelling.

I'm following a different order than the publication or chronological - books 1-3, then prequel, then finish the series. Loving the backstory, but ready to return to the present!

I love Matar's writing, and this is (of course) exquisite as usual.
