This one might be a DNF for me. I appreciate that she's doing some experimental things but the first two audiobook narrators are just killing me. The variation in pitch and volume is doing my head in.

Really debating if I'm going to keep listening. The main character is deeply unlikable. I don't think I've met a likable character yet actually. Not that they have to all be likable but...yeesh

I came to see reviews to help me decide if I continue reading or not. It's starting to feel too... self-obsessed in an uninteresting way? But it seems like other folks also had problems at this point and found the end of the book redeeming.

Not even that far in, but reading this also having the lens of what is going on with the pandemic in the US, is making this really fascinating.

A good intro book and I've gotten maybe a couple of tidbits, but so far it isn't stuff I don't already know. Also, I can see how this book could really rub some people the wrong way because he comes off like a privileged ass.

Gaaaaaaah this woman is basically like- if you are depressed, you jut need to stop acting like a depressed person and stop listening to sad music. I might be hate reading this book at this point.

There is the part where they want you to stop reading and journal your activities for a few weeks. So I stopped and then haven't picked it up again in like six months...

A fair amount of what's in here is stuff I've gotten from other books I've read about how the brain works. It's definitely easy to read and I'm making note of some of the things in here that I might be able to apply to real world situations- like how to keep people's attention in presentations and actually teach them something.

I'm having to put this book down at the moment because any book that tells you to basically do what you want as though money wasn't an issue is like- for real? Just feels very tone deaf to living in the real world.

I'm really enjoying this so far. It is giving me that reassurance that it's fine and normal to be a person who likes alone time, feels drained by small talk or meeting new people, tends to feel overwhelmed by a lot of sensory input, etc. and also that it's ok to not to want to pretend that those things are other than they are.

I may not have the will to continue on. Do writers these days get paid by the word?? Because I'm pretty sure this could have been handled within 150 pages.

Just now realized how far I'm in and how little the story has progressed. He spends every other line reminding us of the same two facts. We got it already!!

So the benefit of the audiobook is that you get mindy's delivery on the jokes. This probably helps a lot because I think if I was reading it I'd be bored by now. Honestly my interest is fast waning. I'm starting to think there are few people who should be allowed to write memoirs before they turn 40.
