This is such a slow start but I will keep going….

Getting ready to start this advance copy I won in March. Paperback finically arrived. Worked I am burnt out of fantasy/romance. Only time will tell . Gogint squeeze in a few small books before I start this. It sounds fantastic so I want to give it my undivided attention. Fingers crossed.

So I am 17 pages in and get to what should be a great childhood memory for the FMC at the fairytale theme park her family owns. Completely ruined because she stresses it was her favorite time of year, autumnal equinox, and she loved picking up and playing with the helicoptering maple seeds.

Dear Ms. Ratcliffe, stick to your Science Fiction if you can not remember autumn = falling leaves and spring = falling seeds.

Went to start this to get over my Charlie Method slump and FMC is also named Charlotte…. Next please…. Not going to allow that to influence this little book. Back to you later this week my little thrill ride.

Had to hit pause. The first book in the series that has is dragging some in the middle.

Really Enjoying Doom vs. Hester

Why are there so many five star reviews? So far poor writing and it feels like a bad acid trip but with one dimensional characters and an insipid main character. Help?

179. Two thirds in and I just do not care. Have tried to continue but poor character development and plot have made me decide to not only drop the series but dnf this book.

So far this Is lacklustre. Choppy and I even wondered if this is the same author who wrote the elemental series. It is beer but far from a interesting. All over the place with no well defined or interesting characters 20% into reading. Continue??

Ok this might be nitpicking but when the jinni is released he picks up the smiths soldering iron by the hot tip….then 5 pages later it is revealed that jinni fear iron and avoid it. No explanation. In 1899 it was likely the smiths tools were stainless steel and an alloy close to 90% iron. Not to mention all the wrought iron that would have been in NYC by that year. Suspending scientific facts to move forward..

YippeeKiyeaMF Hoopla finally fixed the glitch! Maybe I can finally finish this book tonight!

Half way into the book hoopla is glitching! So far a wonderfully written story about two Nigerian women sharing their past with each other while bound and kidnapped….. I am invested so Hoopla minions better fix the glitch!!

Trying to read this but just a slog. Better dark mafia books out there and I am considering DNF since I started and stopped about 5 times in the last week!

This has been on my TBR for so long the title was changed! LOL

Having a difficult time getting into this book. Not sure if it’s the writing style, translation, or characters. Keep picking it up and putting it down 😢
