I was about to cancel Kindle Unlimited for QA reasons. THIS is why I won't. Makes a beautiful case for less-is-more prose. And selective word choice.

I have learned so much from this book... it's a bit weird that I am not reading in on photocopies in the Vassar library, but for fuck's sake, why didn't I read this then?!?

I have a bit of trouble with the British English vocab and spelling in this one... but, then again, I haven't to date realized how many Americans must write with European-born characters and what Brits (and others) might think of that.

I'm getting very curious about what this book will look like once they kill off all the characters (~50 of them) that I've met so far and Stephenson takes it into full-science fiction mode in 7015 (or whatever). Maybe like in It when the kids are suddenly 27 years older and the whole book goes sideways. (Wasn't a fan of it, anyway. Seemed like lazy writing.)

This is shaping up to be great - the moon blows up and Earth has 2 years before it will be sterilized. But knowing Neal Stephenson, this is gonna be a wild ride!

Just got to where the airship came landed on the top of the Empire State building. I'm surprised so many people didn't like it! Although curiously skewed along gender lines.
