I just had to read in advance whether it was a happy or sad ending. 😂

Imagine a food that looks so delicious but when you take a bite, it tastes so bland. That’s how I feel while reading the book.

I really hope the book picks up its pace and become more interesting.

I’m having a hard time getting through the book. The premise sounds promising but the execution is quite lacking in my opinion. There are even days when I don’t feel like reading the book at all. The characters remind me a lot of the main characters in the Shatter Me series. I hope the book will become more interesting in the coming chapters and I really hope the romance is not another copy-paste from others.

Lore is really quite annoying to me. Sloth is not interesting enough to be the male lead. The story is boring and not quite engaging. I’m putting this story on hold for now. 🙃🙃🙃

Lore Brimstone is.. Preppy. She talks too much and mostly about things that are not relevant to what is happening. Like most readers, I like sunshine heroines, but Lore is quite annoying.

On the other hand, Sloth seems bland compared to his brothers. He doesn't have the makings of a male lead in a novel.

I sense some attraction from the both of them and I don't understand why. They barely interacted by this point.

I am currently wondering if this book is truly a romance because as of the current chapter that I’m reading, I don’t feel their connection. Sure, there are fun moments. But I don’t feel as engaged and invested in the main leads as I hope to be.

For two brilliant people, they seem to be so dumb. Instead of talking to each other, they settle with swimming in their own thoughts. If they just talk, 85% of all the conflicts will be resolved.

On another note, some of the technical aspects can be hard to follow at times. I picked up this book for light reading, I didn’t expect to be saddled with technicalities about fey lines.

The first 4 chapter are long-winded and nothing ever happens.

I just skipped a whole chapter. I don't care what you say, this totally feels like incest to me. Why did it have to be the stepbrother?

The book and premise is good but I feel uncomfortable with the fact that they are step-siblings.

Making out while on a stakeout and making love while the world is slowly being enveloped in darkness? And by the way, I am still not convinced of the romance. Is it really love? Or merely lust-driven actions?

Maybe because I have been familiar with the genre, but I already had an inkling of who was who almost from the start. The romance is not quite convincing for me. Bickering does not always equate to romance. In the real world, bickering would more often lead to divorce. The two main leads hated each others guts, then suddenly have feelings for each other? How? Why? It was like something that was taken out of mid air.

I powered through another few chapters. Other than intense lust towards one another, I still don’t feel any chemistry between Camilla and Envy. Jealousy don’t always signify love. And sure, Envy’s brothers misunderstand their relationship to be something more but, I, as the reader don’t really feel it. I hope this new turn of events can convince me of their romance. I’m more excited for Gluttony’s book.

The story is quite unnecessarily dragging. I had to force myself to power through on some parts.

I was quite taken by Jude and Cardan's love story. I wanted to know what happened to them after the Folk of the Air ended. When I learned that a new duology was on the works, I was quite excited. However, I am quite disappointed. I'm already half-way through the books and there is still nothing significant happening. And maybe because I adore Jude and Cardan but I feel quite bored with Oak and Suren.

Verity grew up sheltered by her sisters. She’s gullibe and quite naive. Now that she’s of age, she wants to spread her wings and was quite angry when her eldest living sister seems to thwart her plans and, like all teenagers since the dawn of time, she thinks she knows better than everyone. I’m not particularly invested in the triplets’ plot. I wish we could hear more about her other sisters.

I guess nobody really dies. Also, is this the start of something new for Masha and Dima? Will Sasha truly go down the path of vengeance? Is there some romance brewing between Baba Yaga and Koschei? 😱😱Will Roman stop being a wimp? Will Bryn finally be able to fully harness the kidney? Will the other Antonova sisters appear beyond being a tool to ressurect the dead? Will Lev truly become a pusher?

My heart was in pain for what could have been between Masha and Dima, and all the sacrifices they made for their families. Sasha and Lev balanced the angst with their adorable banters. I cried when Masha died. But then, Masha just had to come back from the dead without proper explanation. How? I also want to know more about the other sisters. I really hope all my questions will be answered as I read further.

It’s been weeks, but I’m having problems finishing this book. 😅😅😅 I don’t know if it’s just me, but it’s dull and boring in my opinion. 🙃🙃🙃
