A lot of phones getting lost in rivers in this book. Also I don’t buy the leading lady’s science…I think this may be the first Dan Brown book where I can’t suspend my disbelief on something. 😩 Can we have more religion/art/historical intrigue? I miss that stuff.

Mentioned events of the Season 2 episode “Investigations”. So I’m going to guess this was a bit before “Basics”?

The Nograkh backstory sounds a lot like the Kazon-Trabe conflict. They overthrew their oppressive rulers, only to end up worse off than before.

Also, Pacria’s situation is a lot like the episode where B’elanna had to be treated by the Cardassian version of Mengele.

I assume this takes place during the first season. It mentioned the events of “Faces”, where B’Elanna got split into her human and Klingon selves by the Vidiians only a few months prior. No mention of the events of “State of Flux” though—no mention of the Nistrim or Seska, which I thought was odd considering that was a big deal.

It took them long enough to finally meet the kitty cat. And he’s a giant kitty cat! And a very cute one too. I love how all the Night Dwellers are scared of him…kind of like H.P. Lovecraft’s titular Cats of Ulthar.

Oh my gosh, it’s the knightmare that Volke found in the gorge in “Master Arcanist”! I wondered where he ended up!

I can see why reviewers are calling this “filler”, because it sure feels like it.

The fact that the first World Serpent arcanist is a Viking guy makes me smile.

Zaxis bring the most sensible person in the group is the best surprise ever. I want to hear about his “offscreen” character development now.
